WASHINGTON EXPANDS DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIP
Thank God.

I spoke last month with Jamie Pederson, the democratic sponsor of the bill when it had just passed through the house. The Senate just passed it on Tuesday the 4th, with a vote of 29 to 20, which is great, but I'm still disturbed that nearly half of our legislators are bigots. 

Anyway, back to Jamie Pederson. I'd asked him why we, gay people, couldn't just have legal MARRIAGES, and he said that he and his fellow backers, had to just do it piecemeal, a few rights at a time, to finally get what we want. Seems some conservative state leaders freak out on the word 'marriage.'  We do now have more rights now, but still far less than legally married couples.
