AM1090 seeks a politically savvy Intern
Fall ’09 & Winter ’10 Interns
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to commit a minimum of 15 hours each week to the internship. Hours are flexible within the Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5:30pm work week. Candidates must be a junior or senior in college and receive academic credit for the work performed at the station. Internships are unpaid. Strong interest in radio and/or sales is preferred. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel a plus. Ideal candidate will be highly organized, able to communicate well with others, detail-oriented and interested in pursuing sales as a career.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include but not limited to:
- Assisting National Sales Promotion Director and National Sales Coordinator in daily tasks
- Attending sales and promotion meetings
- Assisting with national sales promotions
- Fulfilling recaps for clients including writing recaps and obtaining airchecks
- Accompanying staff to on-site events
- Meeting with various station personnel to learn how radio works as a complete package

Responsibilities include working at grassroots marketing events, station promotional events and working with listeners. Must have an interest in politics, current events and/or talk radio. Must be 18 years or older, able to work mornings/ /evenings/holidays as necessary and have an excellent driving record.
