Tami, grew up in the land of the midnight sun, Homer, Alaska. She defected to the outside over two decades ago to attend college at Central Washington University in Ellensburg. At Central she obtained degrees in Mass Communications and Theater. After experiencing artistic poverty as a theater stage manager Tami landed in radio.
Since 1990, she played songs, given many news and traffic reports for: KMPS, KZOK, KLSY, KIXI, KPLU, KUOW, KQBZ and was Kym Stewart on the Mountain.
Now days you can catch her traffic reports on Seattle’s Progressive Talk “AM 1090” KPTK and KZOK 102.5 FM in the mornings. On Sunday mornings she chats with movers and shakers in the community on the public affairs show Community Matters Weekend Edition.
When not at the station, Tami likes to make jewelry, hit the beach and visit her animal kingdom in Puyallup which includes Compass the horse and Stanley the Camel who is taking a break from acting this year. Tami’s current campaign consists of convincing her husband Mike and cat Tom how wonderful it would be to adopt a Newfoundland dog from Seattle Purebred Rescue.
